2026 Conference

April 27, 2026
Fountain Hills, Arizona

Call for Proposals

Deadline: February 17, 2026

It’s hard to believe, but the Museum Association of Arizona hasn’t had an in-person Annual Conference since 2019!

Our 2026 Conference theme is Technology and will focus on the ways in which Arizona museums have adopted and adapted technological advances over the last 6 years.

From Online Meetings to Virtual Tours to QR Codes, we are looking for presentations about using applications that have become second nature, as well as ones that explore newer and more controversial technologies like Virtual Reality and the broad use of Artificial Intelligence.   Discussions about Collections Research Projects and the importance of learning Historic Preservation Skills are also welcome.

Proposals may take the form of sessions, individual presentations, and posters that address the theme with topics relevant to Arizona’s diverse museums.

Full Session  (60 minutes)
A panel (no more than 3 presenters, please!), roundtable discussion, or interactive presentation that will fill the 60 minute time slot.

Individual Presentation  (15 minutes)
Short presentations on a single topic no more than 15 minutes long.  Please indicate if you would like us to help you put together a full session on the topic.

Poster
A research project or other activity or event that lends itself to a 2-dimensional presentation.  Materials should be pre-mounted on a single board for display on an easel (a limited number are available) or a tri-fold board for display on a table top. Posters will be on display in the main meeting area during the entire conference.
